Season 2(EP 8, 12-24) - [Mazui]

Note: This show has the most confusing broadcast order ever. It is highly recommended that you view it in the chronological order, which is what the episode numbers are in. Both chronological and broadcast orders are listed in the info.txt file.

Note 2: The Endless Eight episodes are insanely repetitive. If you have no patience, it is recomended that you watch only Endless Eight 1, 2 and 8 (Episodes 12, 13 and 19).

Still waiting for the 720p release ^_^

I wish watching them in order didn't jumble up the songs like that but I guess I'm anal. A few questions: 1) How goes the 720 release? 2) Are you going to do Disappearance? 3) Is there a program to burn .mkv with subtitles like this to DVD to watch on PS3 or dvd player? My computer isn't a big fan of high-quality mkv like this...
# Uiharu | 2011-10-22 19:34
1) Really slowly, but it will be done before the end of the year
You can take a look in what we might do next season also submit your proposal.
3) - I am sure that there is a answer for your question there.
# derpy | 2011-12-24 11:07
How is that end of the year release coming along?
# andou | 2011-09-16 01:49
Anyone else than me who's experiencing problems with the CCCP/MPC-HC+Dir ectVobSub setup in episode 1 when Kyon is looking at a paper with lots of kanji+subs. The subs arrives a little bit too early, then the audio cuts off for some seconds while the video is slowing down a lot. I've never experienced anything like it before. I fixed the problem by switching to MPC-HC's internal renderer, but it's still kind of sad ditching DirectVobSub.
# killazys | 2011-09-20 16:30
VSFilter's quality and rendering is worse than MPC's internal renderer anyway; you did yourself a favor :D

I congratulate you ^^
# firefly25 | 2011-05-10 21:39
27GB is a bit much -.-
oh well it isn't that much space i guess, thanks for the release :)

"1080p Release will be retired when 720p is released. Grab it while you can!"

Season 1 episodes have Q-TEC AIDS, sure, but Season 2 isn't an upscale, so a 1080P version still has merit. There's no way to get Season 1 up to Season 2's quality, but if your encoder knows wtf he's doing, you can make it look decent. Example:
# Ametatsu | 2011-04-20 23:45
I just took a screen of our release at the same point.. Not seeing this god-like sharpening that makes your's any different...

Btw, it seems that the OPs and ED were reanimated, cause they are looking very very sharp. The actual episodes... not even close.

Yes, S2 is better looking, but still a 720p upscale. It would be really inconsistent to release only S2 in 1080p.. so it's all going down to 720p.

can't find softsub of a.f.k season 2, one that I could found and I think it's good is this >_<
other than this, maybe the only way to get it is to ask the a.f.k itself in their IRC. ._.
# sum1unoe | 2011-04-18 18:22

>720P only
>AC3 audio
>Used Chihiro for S2

>The only group who has completed 1080P, 720P, and 480P Haruhi releases.
>First ones out and first ones finished.
>The only group who has a.f.k.-based subs for both seasons.
>The only group who even bothered to use the lyrics sheets to correct karaoke lyrics.
>The only group who bothered to TS everything.
>The only group who managed to make sense of the season orders.

Personally I think the choice is clear.
# pogo | 2011-04-24 12:03 had shitloads of spelling erros and even a dropped line in their 1st release bro so i wouldn't say finished 1st, it took them long enough to fix them.
# sum1unoe | 2011-04-18 18:22
A comparison of all Haruhi BD releases:

a-S: Judging by the fact that they didn’t even do episodes 22-25, and that their average episode size is 450MB for 1920x1080P, they aren’t even worth downloading.

>Didn’t do 1080P
>Didn’t do Dual-Audio for S2
>Went with Chihiro subs for S2

Doki: Instead of using Hitsuji for S1, Doki decided to OCR the a.f.k. From what I’ve seen, their scripts are pretty solid; The only clear fail is weak TS .

>Used [Zero-Raws] for 1080P
>Uncorrected lyrics for S2 karaoke
>Restyled Hitsuji scripts and mislabeled them as a.f.k.
>Used Mazui subs for S2.
# Ametatsu | 2011-04-18 18:33
I'd like to know what you mean by Uncorrected lyrics.. The lyrics are TL'd by us.

We didn't mislabel the scripts. It's true we pulled them from Hitsuji, but Hitsuji pulled them from a.f.k. So, all TL credit goes to a.f.k.
# sum1unoe | 2011-04-18 19:13

Unless you scrapped all of Hitsuji's TS, I believe they still deserve *some* credit.
# Ametatsu | 2011-04-18 19:20
I'm still not seeing how these are uncorrected. If you understood japanese, then you'd see that my translations are much more accurate than the ones used (although, I admit there could have been some flow improvements...)

And you're right about the Hitsuji TS, I will give credit to them for the TS.
# sum1unoe | 2011-04-18 21:53
They're 'uncorrected' because you're missing quite a few lines. Also, there is a mondegreen in line 6 that you might want to correct (
# Ametatsu | 2011-04-18 22:01
Oh wow, i guess line 6 is messed up. I'm really curious how that happened.. as I did go off the official lyrics... anyways, thanks for pointing that out >.
# Ametatsu | 2011-04-18 22:02
Still not sure what you mean by missing lines. Did you expect me to TL the whole full length song?
# sum1unoe | 2011-04-18 22:15
Let's see:

There's a line missing in between 'Super Driver Tosshin' and 'fukanou tobikoete' that should read as 'Leave it to me, whatever, forward on!', if I'm reading the kanji right (まかせてなんてったって前進).

You're also missing 'don't you stop me', 'get back to wild', 'Round one' 'Funky Rookie Game' 'Nice Backspin', and 'Honky Tonky Head'.

IDK about Mazui's kara, as I avoided those scripts like the plague, but I did see Chihiro, Yuki, and a.f.k.'s S2, and they all had complete karaoke.

The S2 ED was ok, it's just the OP that's wrong. You guys should seriously consider ditching Mazui for the 720P. That TL does not go with a.f.k. at all. It's why no other groups chose it; it's universally hated.
# Ametatsu | 2011-04-18 22:25
Oooo, you are talking about the background lines. Those are barely even audible so I don't really see a point in adding those in.

Anyways.. I'm going to re-TL this OP. You're right, it could use alot of touch ups.

As for completely switching to a.f.k.. I can't find any a.f.k softsubs for season 2. If you have them, or know where to get them. Please do tell me.
# RedStar | 2011-03-08 07:32
Thanks for this... i hate to ask, but are these in Cronological order ? the mixed order is just confusing, and since this is an upscale is it safe to say the 1080 is the same quality as the 720 ?

Again Thank you ^_^
# Ametatsu | 2011-03-08 08:40
Yes, episode numbers are in chronological order. The 720p video should look just the same, but the scripts will be much better than the 1080p release, so I suggest that you wait for the 720p if you can ^.^
# RedStar | 2011-03-08 08:44
oh cool thanx i will grab 720 when its up but for now this will do :) thanx

Not trying to rush or anything, but do you maybe have a ETA on the new batch in 720p? Because if it is a while I will just grab the one now since I have bandwidth to waste, but if the 720p is right around the corner I would rather not waste time. Hope to see the new batch soon since as of now you guys have the best Haruhi release it seems.
# cd09 | 2011-04-15 21:15
still waiting for 720p
# Jackstick | 2011-03-07 09:34
Is the 720p release going to have higher vid quality than the 1080p? I assume the 1080p is an upscale?

720p is going to use a BD source too, correct?

Thanks in advance. You guys are the only ones I can trust for a well-made Haruhi. ^_^
# Ametatsu | 2011-03-07 10:11
Yes 1080p is upscale. 720p will also be from BD source. Honestly, I think our 1080p release is our worst project when compared others. So I really suggest you wait for the 720p release.
# Jackstick | 2011-03-07 14:23
Alright, will do. ^_^ You will have both seasons in 720p, right?
# ITHORA | 2011-03-07 14:28
Yup, it will be the entire series.
# ITHORA | 2011-03-01 18:26
We haven't forgotten, the 720p release are on their way so don't worry =D
# TooTallTony | 2011-03-05 10:24
Thank you. I will be patiently waiting.
# mangamuscle | 2011-03-01 16:48
Please do not forget the 720p encondes.

Thanks in advance
# TooTallTony | 2011-02-28 06:18
Please finish the 720p encodes.
# anon | 2011-01-27 08:07
Is it just me or are the signs out of sync.
Not the TL Note signs, they are synced just fine, but the Typeset sign's are off by about a second or so and it's not just in one particular episode.

Hoping for a patch if it isn't just me.

PS: Thanks for all the great work.
# Cking543 | 2011-01-25 21:07
there was one thing off about the subs imo. western name order for season 1, eastern for season 2. i know it was the subs that were used but i guess i can deal with it (only occurs in certain cenes anyway) THANKS GUYS
# ITHORA | 2011-01-14 12:11
We don't have an account on any file hosting service right now, but all donations that we get will be going to that.
# junh1024 | 2011-01-16 12:45
Not that you need a premium account on a filehosting service to upload (many people do that all the time, including me, occasionally) , but best keep files under 1GB via split-RARs so that free users can download files.
# Ametatsu | 2011-01-16 13:21
That's the issue, it takes lots of time and effort to turn the releases into split archives then upload each one to the file sharing sites. If we started doing this by ourselves, we wouldn't have that much time to focus on new releases. If we can get a staff member dedicated to uploading our releases to file sharing sites, then we can start releasing DDL links.
# junh1024 | 2011-02-20 19:56
yess, thank you for DDL :>
# junh1024 | 2011-01-13 23:17
OK, great. Also, will you be providing DDLs on say, multiupload? I am bandwidth-limit ed so torrenting anything this big is kinda hard.
# junh1024 | 2011-01-13 21:35
Soumm, did you reencode Zero-Raws release, or did you mkvmerge the OPED out?

Also, did you hardsub anything?
# Ametatsu | 2011-01-13 21:36
We did not re-encode the [Zero-Raws] release. Their release for this show was good enough to use as is.
Nothing is hardsubbed, pure BD video. If you were to turn the subtitles off, it would be no different than watching the RAW.
# Ametatsu | 2011-01-13 21:37
There were no NCOP and NCEDs for this show, so the OP and ED are extracted out from the RAWs.
# cking543 | 2011-01-08 07:54
SEEEEEEEEEEEEED SSSSSSSSSSSSS PLEASE!!! at 27GB this'll take well over a week with the current seeds
# Ametatsu | 2011-01-08 23:02
Please be patient, Our seedboxes will get to you eventually. There is a huge difference between the leecher and seeder counts right now. Since most people hate to seed when they're done, our seedboxes have been working non-stop on this torrent for a week at max bandwidth.
