U all talk 'bout 720p an' higher resolutions, I can tell u that they're better than any online streaming sites, so stop complaining and start seeding, 200kb/s is SLOW!

can someone reseed this? really slow dl speed, around 30-60 kB/s

More seeds would be nice... DL speed only ranges 50-100 kBs

Can you please seed? It's way too slow.

An ongoing Doki poll asks which resolution people prefer for their archive version of a BD: Out of 3,840 votes to date, 52% want 720p, 40% want 1080p, and 8% want 480p.

Part of the reason is file size, but based on the comments and requests for assistance I see on various fansub sites, subtitle lag is a big issue for many, even those with fairly new midrange hardware. Windows laptops have been oriented to run MS Office, not media, and a new one out the door today can still produce disappointing results.

Information, for what it’s worth. The 1080p archivists among us are also a very enthusiastic group. In the end, fansubbers should do whatever gives them satisfaction, given the pay, don't you think?

We always do 1080p when possible, however if you look at the screenshots for this show, there is not question that 1080p is completely useless. We would love to satisfy both ends, but any true 1080p enthusiast would agree with me that there are some shows that just shouldn't have 1080p

I only archive 720p if the 1080p versions are above 1.6gb per episode.

Well, I can guarantee you that you won't be seeing any 1080s you don't want to archive from us

I didn't mean it like that. I was just speaking in general. I should of said, I usually only archive 1080p, unless the 1080p version is either too large or a terrible quality. I'm actually eagerly awaiting your 720p release of this.

So far, 720p is the best choice for Ga-Rei Zero. it's just crappy upscale if you turn it into 1080p.

You can always set the resolution of the subs manually (in MPC).
I believe 1080p should only be done for shows when they show merits. Else only 720p.

comparison please with the 1080p and the re-encode to 720p.

# Ametatsu | 2011-02-25 22:36
I haven't started the actual encoding yet, but here's a screen of the 1080p. www.elysiumsubs.com/release-info/gareizero/1080screen.png

As you can see, it'll be barely cutting it for 720p
