Group Updates
Before we start talking about projects, I want to mention a couple things that will be changing with the group. First things is our release times with projects. If you've been following us for long, you'll notice that the amount of releases we've pushed out have been decreasing over the year. There are a couple things to contribute to that. The main one is that laziness really gets to you at times you wish it didn't ^.^! The second reason is that we've been pushing our quality standards higher and higher with each release, but unfortunately, that costs time.
To combat this, I'm going to start implementing more of a strict quarterly grouping of releases. The year will be split into four quarters and the projects we announce (unless otherwise specified) will be released within that quarter. This way we don't have projects that get put on the backburner for a whole year! *cough* Haruhi *cough* But, of course, we still do this out of our free time, so don't expect us to hit hard deadlines like a company would.
Another thing you might notice is that we're dropping the Hi10P from our filenames. There's really no point anymore. Basically everyone is already switching to Hi10P, so it should be expected of any release now.
New Staff!
With the new year, we will be bring two new staff members on-board, and they are....
Make sure you guys welcome them around the site! They're going to be the reason we can even push the amount of release we've listed below!
Project Announcements
And... what you've all been waiting for! Here is our project lineup for this next quarter. Thank you all for the input we received through the voting system a couple months back, we looked over all of the data and kept in mind all of your opinions on this. We'll definitely be doing the voting thing again for the next quarter, so stay tuned :)
Yup... that's a huge list. However, if you read them all, you'll know that not all of them are going to be strictly released in this winter season. Regardless, looks like I'll be having less of a life this Winter. The respective project pages will start popping up within the next month, so if you have any questions or comments related to a specific show, you might get a better response in its official project page. Also, I have chosen not to include what group's subs we'll be using for each show. We still haven't finalized the information for every show yet, so you'll find out once its project page goes up.
Unfortunately, we can't do everything or satisfy everyone's requests. So, to fulfill your curiosity, here is a list of the more popular requests that we chose to decline and the reasoning:
Kimi ni Todoke - One of our friend groups will be picking this up. I'm not allowed to name the group just yet, but you can expect some awesome releases from them!
Kara no Kyoukai - Basically, no one has interest in this right now. Sorry :( Perhaps in the future.
Toradora! - Exact same situation as Kimi ni Todoke
Ouran High School Host Club - Have you guys looked at the BD before suggesting this? One look and you'll understand.
Working!! - Again, not a huge ammount of interest. Maybe in the future though...
Mouryou no Hako - No one has finished subbing this, and we don't do TL... so for now, not possible.
Nichijou - Not enough interest atm. I might do this next season though. We'll see...
Other Announcements
In the last couple releases (specifically Index II, Madoka, and Shana I), we've been getting reports about the fonts not displaying correct when being played. This is due to a change in mkvtoolnix (the library we use to mux together the mkv files) and how it assigns the MIME file type for the attached font files. Because of this change, Haali Media Splitter will sometimes not recognize the files as fonts and will not extract them as so. There are two workaround for this issue. One is the use LAV Splitter rather than Haali. This is recommended as the LAV Splitters are better than Haali anyways. Second is to install the required fonts onto your system. This workaround is the easiest since you will have the fonts files available to load whether the mkv splitter extracts them or not. I have attached all the fonts needed for the release to display properly on the project pages of the affected releases. This issue should not longer be apparent in future releases since we will be making sure the MIME types are attached correctly.
As always, thank you all for being great fans XD. Let's hope we'll have another wonderful and successful year!
Comments Refresh
1. Sora no Otoshimono Forte,I've been comparing E-D release & SubDesu, it's kinda dissapoint me a little (in my opinion.)
2. Baka to test Shokanjuu OVA Matsuri (Although FFFpeeps releases is good, i hope you guys will thinking about it)
3. Chaos Head (I don't know if this will be accepted by you guys)
4. Accel World (I don't know how long until it finished)
5. Blood C + The Movie (I Hope...)
6. Last Exile - Ginyoku no Fam
thanks for you guys to listen .......
Shana II isn't worth a damn encode. There's a group Sapphire IIRC working on them either way, and it looks just as shitty as I.
Usagi has quite a bit of BD groups already, would be interesting to see your take on modified subs, though.
Great to see Kami Nomi in the list. Looking forward to that.
Either way, good luck guys.
I hope you you'll actually be able to release everything because it seems like it will take a lot of work.
One more show I wish to see from some group is Dennou Coil, as Coalgirls' encode is hugely huge.
And I would like to ask something: in your most recent releases (e.g. Shakugan no Shana), the audio is AAC 300 kbps. I would ask you, is it AAC-LC or HE-AAC? What Q are you using? Q=0.6 or 0.8?
Thanks!
Maybe I remember it wrong, should test it again I guess.
By the way, Haruhi will get 720p release I guess? from what I see at haruhi project page.
Btw, Mouryou no Hako was completely translated by different fansub groups (ep. 1-9 by Aero subs, ep. 10-13 by Aoi-Anime, special by Dekiagari). You can find batch for this series on bakabt: bakabt.me/150376-mouryou-no-hako-720p-aero-aoi-anime.html
Happy new fansubbing year for all of you!
I see no reason why someone should change splitters and give up on ordered chapters just to cater to you guys.
That said, ANE's encode of bakemonogatari is pretty damn impressive. Really don't think they can be beat, but looking forward to see what Elysium comes up with.
